From September 1939, Hitler had been trying to find a solution to the "Jewish Question" to exterminate "the enemy." Finally, Hitler had relayed to the message that "all Jews must be exterminated from Germany.
Anti-Semitism and hatred had gotten worse than ever and Hitler and his group had been
thinking about the "Jewish Question," the solution of exterminating
the Jewish population. Finally, in 1939, the Nazi Party and Hitler had
decided to speed up the process of the deportation of the Jewish. In addition,
conversations about mass killings had started with gassing because the shootings
were taking too long for the "sterilization of the Jewish population."
The Final Solution nightmares started here; no one had knew the Nazis and Hitler
were planning to carry out murder and forced labor scenes to express their
hatred.
Selection Process at Auschwitz: Children 15 and under were sent to the gas chambers along with the elderly, weakened adults, and the physiologically disabled. The young and healthy were sent to the concentration camps to work. |
Since the Nazis had believed that they had been wanting to sterilize Germany by making a nation "Jew-free," they had decided to put all Jewish people into ghettos, an old torn up place, until they would be deported to the concentration/death camps all over Germany.
By 1939,
the real Holocaust nightmares had started because Jewish people were being
deported to the awaiting death/concentration camps, ready to catch on death.
Many were chosen for immediate death on arrival; many were chosen for forced
labor. When arriving, a camp doctor determines the fate of each Jewish person by
saying either left: life, or right: death. The ones chosen for forced labor were
then disinfected, given a camp uniform, and lead to the barracks. The doomed:
the ones chosen for death were told that they were "taking a shower."
Following then, they were taken to a room to undress and leave their clothes in
a neat way on the hooks so that they would remember where their clothes were
after they were finished with their "shower," and lead into a large
room disguised to look like a public shower room. At least a couple hundred
people were herded inside and the SS men said that coffee or tea would be served
after their "shower." Most people knew their faith when the SS guards
said "showers." They shut the steel door and locked it, then SS men
put the Zyklon B crystals that formed poison
gas. By 3-15 minutes, everybody in the gas chamber was dead from
suffocation.
"One could hear banging, screaming, and scratching from the outside wall for an endless 2-4 minutes; soon after, we knew the peoples in the gas chamber were dead because the screaming stopped." ~SS Officer Eichelsdoerfer
(Right: The entrance of the gas chamber. When people were pushed inside the chamber, the SS guards would pour in Zyklon B crystals, which turned into a deadly gas that killed the people within 3-15 minutes.)
The camps were filled with Nazi terrorism, the sweet, sick smell of the dead, and the camp was awfully filthy. The prisoners who were selected to work had a glimpse of hope of living a little longer, but their daily routine was filled with beatings and tortures for the slightest mistakes. Prisoners were forced to watch the executions like shootings, hanging, and torture carried out by the SS Nazis. The camps were not liberated until 1943-1945, when the Soviet, Russian, and US. troops came.
Not only gas chambers and effective labor were conducted, but medical
experiments were also a major role of the mass killings. In Auschwitz-Birkenau
and Dachau, "Selected" prisoners went to a designated room and Nazi
doctors would do barbaric, inhuman experiments such as high pressure, low pressure, lethal
injections, (in the heart) and seeing how much a prisoner could endure painful
surgeries without using anesthesia. Very few survived these
"experiments."
(These prisoners are waiting in roll call order. During this period of time could be quite horrifying because here is where most punishments, beatings, hangings, and lynching take place.)
(High Altitude medical "experiments" resulting in death. This healthy, 39 year old inmate was chosen for this barbaric experiment.)
What a disastrous, horrific way to end the normal lives of regular Jewish people, who were seen as "dangerous and unsophisticated" in the world, as Nazis had said. Worst of all, the world's response: Silenced as 6 million Jewish people were being murdered. Propaganda communication had lead such disastrous, final destiny to the Jewish.
