Process Paper

          How I chose this topic:

During the 2004 summer vacation, I visited a museum called the "Museum of Tolerance" and studied about the effects of Anti-Semitism and communicating propaganda. In addition, I had also read several books about the Nazi Propaganda and how that communicates to people. Then, I soon found out that my topic theme was Communicating in History: The Key to Understanding, I had realized that Nazi Propaganda has something to do with communicating in history. Therefore, because of my general knowledge about the Nazi Propaganda, I decided to conduct more research to get more knowledge to create my website.

          How I conducted my research:

First of all, I had started my research by books and internet sources at a public library as well as the school's library. On books and periodicals, I wrote out a brief outline about the propaganda effects and how that happened on a notebook. Meanwhile, I had visited the Museum of Tolerance again and interviewed one survivor from the Holocaust who had gone through living in the concentration camps; that had helped me a lot, because learning the Nazi Propaganda and its effects visually, my understanding of propaganda had increased greatly. In addition, while I was going through the exhibits, I took notes about facts that I needed to know about the Holocaust and the propaganda.  Moreover, I had also started on my annotated bibliography as I gathered more sources to create my website.

How I created and developed my Website:

First of all, I kept notes about my research and my sources in separate notebooks to keep my work organized and well prepared for my website. After I was basically finished with my researching, the information was ready to be typed down into my website. I had set up a theme, created my homepage/navigational bar, and added any additional pages that was to be in my website. Also, while gathering all sources of information and putting them together, I used various internet sources for detailed pictures that literally connects with Nazi Propaganda.

How my project relates to the theme:

My topic about the communication of Nazi Propaganda relates to the theme in various ways. Although my topic is focusing on Nazi propaganda, this also leads to the "Jewish Question" and also the "Final Solution," which is also another form of communication on what propaganda and discrimination could result in; mass killings, more hatred, no equal rights. These major, as well as horrific events are also a huge turning point in history has a big role of communication. This was also a topic of communicating of how fast discrimination and propaganda could destruct our world by filling in more hatred and discrimination.
