Text Box: Here are some interesting facts about the Hieroglyphs:
Hieroglyphs were written in alternating left-to-right and right-to-left lines.  Reading directions was indicated by the position of the sign.  For instance, if the images were facing to the left, the reading direction was from left to right.  And vice versa.
The word “Hieroglyphs” derives from a Greek term describing the scripts as “sacred letters” or “sacred carvings”.
The Rosetta Stone is on display in the British Museum.  In fact, under the term of the Anglo-French treaty of Alexandria (Egypt) in 1802, the French handed the Rosetta Stone over to the British.
