Impacting Present Times
|
Television has had a huge impact on the world from the 1920’s to the present day. In the early 1940’s television was beginning to become popular to many more people. Back then they only had black and white and only a few channels to watch. With the improvement of color television more and more people began to get their news and entertainment from the television. For example, there was a big difference between World War I and the Vietnam War. In WWI, people all around the world could usually only get their information from black & white pictures, newspapers, and radios. In the Vietnam War people could get their information on the war from their televisions at home. The difference is that people could see the action and see how brutal the war in Vietnam was. The average American watches more than 6 hours of television a day (Janet Riehecky 1996). You can almost ask anyone you see and ask them if they have watched television in the last day and almost 75% of them would say they had. The television has become a part of most every American’s life.
