PATRICK HENRY: FIRING UP THE REVOLUTIONARIES

On May 2-4, 1775, Henry led an armed militia against Lord Dunmore in Williamsburg to retrieve ammunition. He wanted freedom.  He was a militia leader for a while but became Governor of  Virginia, where he sent George Rogers Clark to the Illinois country to fight the British.

A scene from the Revolution.

Henry never achieved the military career he’d hoped for.
