Louis Braille was born on January 4, 1809. At the age of 3
was blinded by accident in his dad's workshop with a tool
called an awl. (used to make holes) It went into both his eyes. He
then went to a public school for 2 years. The only way he
could learn was to listen. At the age of 10 he recieved a
scholorship to the Royal Institution for Blind Youth. Go to Louis
