Introduction:

The Holocaust was a horrendous event that killed millions of innocent people. One of the most targeted religion was the Jews, and in Hitler's Final Solution in World War II (1939- 1945) more than six million Jews lost their lives. Since then, a vast number of Jewish literatures consisting of diaries, poetry, and novels have emerged in an effort to understand and to never forget the Holocaust. Many of these works contain personal experiences or historical documentation. Either way this literature still has a deep impact on people. This is demonstrated when the novel Schlindler's List was later turned into a movie and won many Golden Globes and Academy Awards. Other novels like Night by Elie Wiesel have even won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. Many novels that are written about personal experiences in the Holocaust are critically acclaimed and are on the top of bestseller lists. Not only books are recognized as great literature. Many poems about the Holocaust are known as the most passionate and saddening poetry in history. Along with poems, diaries were released with terrifying experiences. One of the most famous dairies that were released was the Diary of Anne Frank. This diary contained Anne Frank's hopes even when there was hopelessness and horrific events until her death.
These pieces of literature are not written to make the reader cry, but to make the reader remember the painful experiences and to never forget them. If the readers retain these events then history will not repeat itself. The authors of this literature want to prevent another Holocaust by releasing these works and if people read the horrible acts committed by the Nazis, then they will act to prevent genocide.
