Communication Across the Country

The Pony Express was a significant type of communication because it changed mail service forever. The union were able to communicate with California much faster rather than relying on the steamship voyages. People were also able to receive their mail in ten days or less. (Lee) The Pony Express also showed that the Central Route was a  reliable route to take.
